Objective
"Zero Accidents"

The Safety Academy is Autostrade per l'Italia's project contributing to achieving the ASPI Group's “Zero Accidents” objective through the design and implementation of safety communication and awareness-raising initiatives aimed at workers of companies operating on our network.

The project stems from within the framework of the “Integrated Supply Chain Safety Protocol” signed by the ASPI Group and the social partners in March 2022, with the aim of “promoting safety through training and communication actions capable of ensuring the creation and widespread dissemination of skills throughout the supply chain” (Point 5 of the Protocol).

The initiatives of the Safety Academy for the identified recipients are voluntary and, therefore, do not replace the current health and safety obligations and prescriptions provided for by Legislative Decree 81/08 as amended, which each company is required to observe.

Engaging initiatives and awareness programmes

The Safety Academy is the tool through which the ASPI Group intends to support companies in launching or strengthening their cultural consolidation path by emphasising the importance of basing corporate strategies on the values of prevention, health and safety in the workplace.

The Safety Academy offers contractors the opportunity to participate in high-impact workshops and events designed and implemented with the aim of increasing awareness of the possible consequences of their actions and strengthening their Safety Leadership.

To this end, the Safety Academy has entered into partnerships with leading organisations to plan training events, awareness-raising campaigns and cultural initiatives that promote the values of prevention, wellbeing and mutual care in industry and society in an engaging manner.

Through its initiatives, the Safety Academy creates opportunities to improve risk perception and cultivate the value of safety.

Innovative training methodologies

The Safety Academy researches the most interesting, innovative and effective training methodologies to enable workers to facilitate their learning and growth with respect to occupational health and safety issues.

Among these, the use of virtual reality allows participants to simulate complex work activities and explore workplaces without being exposed to dangerous situations, thereby improving their knowledge and skills, as well as their perception of risk.

Contractors participating in the Safety Academy will have the opportunity to participate in sessions and workshops realised with the aid of virtual reality.

Leadership in Health and Safety (LiHS) Workshop

The LiHS workshops, conducted in partnership with the LHS Foundation, aim to develop safety leadership and enable participants to learn how to develop and transmit a culture of prevention in the company. The workshops are based on a high level of emotional involvement and on a cooperative and experiential learning method, based on discussions, group activities, role play and interactive exercises simulating real work situations.
