San Benigno Junction
Description of the asset
The upgrading of the San Benigno Junction in Genoa is part of the works provided for in the Fourth Addendum signed by ANAS and Autostrade per l'Italia
The project is part of the works of the A7 - A10 - A12 junction upgrade.
Lot 2 aims to resolve the issues of the San Benigno area, facilitating commutes to/from the Port, to/from the motorway and to/from the Ponente/Levante area of the city.
Area 'D' concerns the works along Via di Francia, in the area connecting the Genova Ovest toll booth, the city's Sopraelevata and the WTC, Via Cantore and the Lungomare Canepa/Port. The project includes the upgrading of the existing viaducts and the construction of new communication axes.
Area ‘E’ concerns the reorganisation of the terminal section of Lungomare Canepa and the new high-level Etiopia port entrance in continuity with the three-lane widening works by Sviluppo Genova. The intervention is part of the interventions of Lot 1 (works already completed) thus completing the overall intervention of the San Benigno Junction.
N.B. THE DESIGN IS BEING REVISED TO MANAGE THE INTERFERENCE WITH THE SUB-PORT TUNNEL.
Interventions to foster the territory
The following new axes have been included in the retrofitting of the San Benigno junction:
Axis 1 – Direct connection Sopraelevata/Lungomare Canepa (dir. Ponente);
Axis 6 - Direct connection Lungomare Canepa/Sopraelevata/ (dir. Levante city centre);
Axis 7 - Direct connection between the A7 motorway (Genova Ovest exit)/Lungomare Canepa (dir. Ponente).
