Stop Work Authority
Thanks to the Stop Work Authority, every worker, regardless of their position, seniority, or role, has the power to halt work if they believe that safety measures are not being followed and that there is a potential risk of accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases for themselves or others.
Workers exercising the "Stop Work Authority" are required to simultaneously inform any Autostrade per l'Italia managers present on site and their direct superior in order to re-establish safety conditions before resuming activities.
No fault or liability can be attributed to an employee who, in good faith, reports a risky situation or stops activities pursuant to the Stop Work Authority, even if such action should later prove to be unnecessary.
