Approval process

The Gronda di Genova project was thoroughly discussed with the local authorities and the citizens of Genoa. This included the adoption of the Public Debate model in 2009, during which the best design solution was chosen out of 5 different alternatives presented. After finalising the route and optimising the project based on the feedback from the Public Debate, the basic design and related approval process were initiated.

The basic design was forwarded to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for technical validation
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport delivered a positive opinion on the technical validation, which is preliminary to the authorisation, according to Article 81 of Presidential Decree 616/1977 as amended
Initiation of the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure and for the filing and publication of the Basic Design and Environmental Impact Study
The Plan of Use was forwarded to the Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection, which approved them on 19/06/2013
DEC/EIA No. 28 was issued as a positive result of the EIA procedure conducted by the Ministry of the Environment
The expropriation procedure was initiated
A request was submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to verify urban compliance according to Presidential Decree 383 of 18/4/1994 and Article 81 of Presidential Decree 616/77
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport convened the Conference of Services
Closing session of the Conference of Services
The Agreement for the construction of the Maritime work was signed by ASPI, ENAC, the Port Authority and Aeroporto di Genova SpA and sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport’s "General Directorate for the Surveillance on the Motorway Concessionaires” for final approval on 28/04/2015
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport issued the final measure by means of which the Conference of Services was positively concluded, thus finalising the State-Region agreement for the location of the asset
The basic design integrated with the 112 specifications received during the Environmental Impact Assessment and the Conference of Services was delivered to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport
Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport sanctioning the approval of the basic design and declaring the public utility of the work
The Construction Design of 'Lot 5: ‘Termination of the Maritime work’ was submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure for approval, for a total value of approximately EUR 154 million gross
