AUTOSTRADE PER L’ITALIA RECEIVES “A2” SUSTAINABILITY RATING FROM MOODY’S ESG SOLUTIONS

The rating assigned reflects the commitment of Autostrade per l’Italia to realize a path of sustainable growth improving the infrastructures and reducing emissions, in line with COP26 targets.

Rome, 23 February 2022 - Autostrade per l’Italia achieves an important award by Moody’s ESG Solutions that assigned to ASPI group an A2 (‘Robust’) Sustainability Rating, affirming the solid efforts and capacity for incorporating ESG factors into the company’s strategy and operations.

The Sustainability Rating is supported by a number of factors including the investments during the 2020-2024 period for a total of €6.2 billion that will result in a major upgrade of the about 3,000-kilometre motorway network managed by ASPI, thereby paving the way to reduce its environmental impact in terms of emissions, noise and light pollution.

Moody’s ESG Solutions rating assignment considers also the investment in major works put in place by the Group as a key driver to remove bottlenecks on the key sections of the network (including the Bologna by-pass), its plan to install 100 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles along the highway network for a total investment of €70 million, and the Group’s newly-established Elgea, newco for generating renewable energy by installing photovoltaic panels alongside the network.

Autostrade per l’Italia also achieved its highest scores in both the “Human Capital” and “Social” areas in which the company has realized important objectives.

This achievement” said Alberto Milvio, Chief Financial Officer of Autostrade per l’Italia and head of the Group’s ESG strategy, “turns out from ASPI’s transformation plan, put in place over the past three years. A plan that considers Sustainability core and one of its enabling factor.”
